My Story
Mohammad (Mo) Amer is a local Frederick resident who is an experienced financial professional with over 6 years experience. As a former business owner and high school Chemistry teacher in Washington County, his professional journey has followed a diverse path, with each distinct role connected by a common thread - education. During his shift from traditional teacher to the financial sector, Mo discovered his passion for empowering people with financial knowledge.
Over the last 5 years, Mo leveraged his experience and leadership skills to build a successful financial practice, allowing him the opportunity to expand the depth of his knowledge and experience by working with and learning from different people.
Despite his professional growth in the corporate world, Mo felt a strong pull to return to his educational roots. In his new role at Voya, he is able to apply his financial experience in a way that will directly benefit educators. While his practice is open to anyone who wishes to better themselves financially, his focus will be enhancing the financial literacy of staff in Washington County Public Schools, Frederick County Public Schools, and Montgomery College.
Mo's commitment to his community extends beyond his professional life. In his free time, he is an active participant in local arts and culture, frequently attending musicals, art shows, and community events. He also enjoys exploring the Frederick community and local area when hiking and kayaking with his wife Beth, and dog Quincy.
